Ultrasound
The Crisis Pregnancy Centers of Greater Phoenix (CPC) offer free Limited Obstetrical Ultrasounds to their clients who have had a positive pregnancy test performed in any one of our six centers. The purpose of the limited ultrasound is to (1) confirm pregnancy, (2) determine if the pregnancy is "viable" (that is, capable of living outside of the uterus), and (3) measure the gestational age of the fetus.
A "viable" pregnancy occurs when the fetus is in the uterus and a heartbeat is observed by a trained medical professional. It is not used for diagnosis of birth defects/complications or determining the sex (gender) of the child. Potential clients interested in ultrasound through CPC would first come in to the center for a free pregnancy test, during which time client assessment, qualification, and scheduling for ultrasound would be determined.
